Clinical/Academic Interests

  • Clinically, Mike is interested in taking care of patients with non-malignant hematopoietic disorders, including hemoglobinopathies, bone marrow failure syndromes, and immune deficiencies, including curative therapy. In the lab, Mike is focused on developing the building blocks for genetic medicines that can realize the promise of curative therapy for individuals with both common and rare disorders. He studies the factors that determine the efficacy and specificity of non-viral delivery systems.
